When photographing a wedding, I do not limit myself to portraiture, or to photojournalism, or to some other style. My style is a healthy BLEND of romantic portraiture, photojournalism, and candids, because each style captures a different aspect of The Day.

Portraiture: lighting and poses are CONTROLLED to make people look their best

  • My goals with portraiture is to keep poses very natural looking while being cheerful and fun to work with.

Photojournalism: lighting is natural (or made to look natural) and people are going about their business

  • usually these are done in black and white
  • known for sometimes omitting faces to focus the viewers attention on easily missed

Candids: spur of the moment

  • sometimes simply to document an instant of time during the wedding day
  • to capture people or things you might miss on your wedding day
  • many times they excel at capturing your family and friends as they REALLY are!
